With possible Chiefs conflict looming, Royals announce September schedule change

The Kansas City Royals have announced a schedule change for a September series against the Oakland Athletics at Kauffman Stadium.  With the strong likelihood that the National Football League will schedule a home opening game for the Super Bowl Champion Chiefs on Thursday, September 10th, the neighboring Royals have changed that day on the baseball schedule to an “off day”.

The Oakland series had previously been scheduled for September 7th through the 10th, but now will finish on Wednesday, September 9th.

The updated schedule is:

Monday, 9/7 – 7:05 PM (no change)

Tuesday, 9/8 – SPLIT DOUBLEHEADER

1:05 PM (replacing the previously schedule Thursday 9/10 12:35 PM game)

7:05 PM 

Wednesday, 9/9 – 12:35 PM (previously scheduled for 7:05 PM0

Thursday, 9/10 – Off Day
