A third consecutive meeting in the Gallatin Invitiational Tournament between the boys basketball teams from Winston High School and Trenton High School is possible, after the Redbirds earned the #1 seed, with Trenton seeded #2. On the same side of the bracket as THS are the host Gallatin Bulldogs, with a #3 seed leaving open the potential of an “All-Bulldog Battle” in the semifinal round. The Polo Panthers have the #4 seed.
Just like the girls tournament, the boys tournament at Gallatin will play two quarterfinal games on Monday, November 27th, with two more the next day. On that Monday, Winston opens play against Hardin-Central at 5:45, with the Polo Panthers battling long-time rival Braymer at 8:15. On Tuesday the 28th, Trenton will be matched up with the Gilman City Hawks at 5:45, with Gallatin going against GRC East rival Maysville at 8:15.
Boys consolation semifinals will be played at 5:45 and 8:15 on Wednesday night, November 29th, with the championship semifinals at 5:45 and 8:15 on Thursday, November 30th. Winston would play in the 5:45 game, with a potential Trenton-Gallatin game at 8:15, if seeds hold through the quarterfinal round.
The only boys game on Friday night, December 1st will be the consolation final at 5:45. The boys third place game gets the day started at noon on Saturday, December 2nd, with the boys title game scheduled for 2:30 inside the GHS gymnasium.
