Whitney, Trump have dominant days, Trenton finishes third, in Monday’s Plattsburg Tournament

The Trenton Bulldog wrestlers racked up 131 points on Monday afternoon, finishing behind the 139 points of runner-up Grandview, and the 283 1/2 points from the champion Kearney Bulldogs, in the Sam Martin Invitational Tournament at Plattsburg High School, delayed two days by the weekend snowstorm.

For Trenton High School, both Mark Trump and Jadan Whitney took first place finishes in their weight class, with Whitney pinning all five of his opponents within the first period.  Caleb Johnson and Kaden Owen each earned runner-up spots, with Noah Lewis on third place.

With Tuesday night’s scheduled home triangular moved to Thursday night, the Bulldogs are now preparing for a rare opportunity to compete in the THS gymnasium, hosting Richmond and Brookfield on Thursday, starting at 5:30 PM.
