As rain continues to fall across north Missouri, headaches with scheduling are growing within the offices of athletic directors across the region. Princeton is right in the middle of this scenario, needing to make up GRC Eastern Division rainouts before the crossover games are played on Thursday, September 22nd.
PHS Athletic Director John Goodin has announced numerous changes to the Lady Tigers softball schedule, noting the importance that getting the GRC East games has in cancelling some of the previously scheduled contests.
The Lady Tigers made up their game with Polo on Thursday night, with the Lady Panthers playing well in an 11-3 victory at Gentry Field, keeping Princeton at the 1-win line in the conference standings. For Monday night (September 19th), Braymer cancelled its game with Princeton, in order for the Lady Bobcats to make up a GRC West matchup with Albany. The Princeton vs. Braymer game will not be rescheduled.
On Tuesday, September 20th, Princeton will not be playing Worth County, in order for the Tigers to make up their rained out game at Maysville. Again, the Maysville game takes precedence as an eastern divisional matchup. First pitch from the Maysville Ball Park is 5:30 on Tuesday.
On Thursday, September 22nd, Princeton will play a game on the road. This is part of the crossover series that will match the Lady Tigers with whomever, in the western division, finishes in the same spot as Princeton in the east. Trenton has clinched the eastern division, and will play for the GRC title on this night on the road, potentially at Stanberry, where the Lady Bulldogs boast a 5-0 GRC West record at this time.
Winston has cancelled its scheduled game with Princeton on Monday, October 3rd, in order for the Redbirds to make up an HDC game that night with North Harrison. Replacing the Winston game for the Lady Tigers will be the contest against Worth County, set for a 5:30 first pitch that night at Gentry Field.
