Sam Cornelius shot an 83 and Addison Cornett 86, good for a 2nd and 4th place individual finish for the Penney Lady Hornet golf team, at Tuesday’s Lawson Invitational Meet. Â Smithville’s Trace Mosby earned medalist honors, shooting an 18-hole score of 81.
Smithville dominated the day from a team perspective, shooting 347 to outdistance the runner-up score of Richmond (431) by 84 strokes. Â Park Hill was third at 434. Â Lawson’s score of 448 was good for sixth place. Â LeBlond was 7th, Plattsburg 9th, and Cameron 10th.
Cameron’s top score, a 118, was turned in by Abby Ourth, good for 28th place. Â While Hamilton showed individual strength at the top of the charts, the Lady Hornets did not field a team score, lacking the four players needed to place.
