Graduating seniors Channing Totta of Kirksville High School and Matt Jermain of Jefferson High School have been selected as recipients of the first annual Twelve Courts of Christmas scholarships for 2022-2023.  Steve Maxey, the director of Twelve Courts of Christmas, says Totta and Jermain were chosen from 70 applications.  The scholarships are being awarded by the Community Foundation of Northwest Missouri.

Totta is planning on attending Missouri State University this fall to major in nursing, with Jermain going to nearby Northwest Missouri State University to major in mathematics.  Both ranked in the top ten percent of their respective senior classes.

To qualify for the scholarships, applicants were required to excel in the classroom, the community as a whole, and on the athletic fields, in addition to participation in the 2022 Twelve Courts of Christmas event in December held at Hy-Vee Arena in Kansas City.

Scholarships will once again be offered to upcoming high school seniors upon their participation in the 2023 Twelve Courts of Christmas.
