Throughout the 2018 season, the Lady Mustangs of Tri-County have widely been considered the second-best team in the HDC Conference, but that opinion took a bit of a hit last week, with Tri-Count taking a pair of one-run losses. On Tuesday, September 18th, the Lady Panthers of Grundy County rallied from an early 5-0 hole for a 9-8 victory in Galt.
Two nights later, while Coach Rick Willett says his team played much better, the Lady Mustangs took a hard-fought 9-8 defeat against Pattonsburg in non-conference action.
Next up for the Lady Mustangs, looking to rebound, are a Thursday home game with East Harrison, a Friday night road trip to Bucklin/Macon County, and a Monday, October 1st trek to Linn County.
Here is the interview, originally aired on KTTN this past Tuesday with Lady Mustangs Coach Rick Willett:
It continues to be a lesson of learning for the Mustang baseball team, with the boys in the program hopeful that experiences gained in the fall will assist them in earning playing time in a spring baseball cooperative, as Tri-County joins with Gallatin as part of the Grand River Conference. With a road trip on Friday night to Bucklin/Macon County approaching, Josh Lisle’s team sits at 0-2, with double-digit losses to Brunswick and Grundy R-5.
