The Tri-County Lady Mustang softball team continues to establish itself as the second-best team in the HDC Conference, with the Jamesport girls unable to break down the barrier set by North Harrison, but showing a strong defense, good pitching, and timely hitting in a 4-2 start to the season. However, after the time this week’s interview with Rick Willett was recorded, the Lady Mustangs stumbled in a Tuesday night road trip to Grundy County, falling to the Lady Panthers in Galt, 10-9. Last Thursday, Tri-County won handily at Gilman City, 14-1, beat Gilman City again on Saturday at the HDC Conference Tournament in Eagleville, before losing to the North Harrison JV in the championship game, 12-2.
