Trenton’s Villacampa and Sager advance to Class 1 state tennis

In the boys Class 1 sectional tennis tournament hosted Saturday at Trenton High School, the Bulldogs doubles team of Trent Villacampa and Bradyn Sager won their match 6-0, 6-0 over a duo from St. Pius X.  That result advances Villacampa and Sager to the Class 1 doubles tournament this coming Friday and Saturday in Springfield.

Two other Trenton entries in sectional play on Saturday lost their matches.  The doubles team of Maverick Sole and Tucker Otto fell 6-2, 6-2 to St. Pius.  Isaac Dixon of THS lost his singles match 6-0, 6-0 to St. Pius.

Trenton and St. Pius will join Savannah and Warrensburg is team sectional competition.  The events, to be hosted by Trenton High School, was to be played on Monday afternoon at 2 o’clock, but was moved to 2 o’clock on Tuesday due to wet conditions.  Trenton will play St. Pius X in one state sectional, with Savannah and Warrensburg playing at the same time.  The two winners to battle one another at approximately 5 o’clock for a spot in the Show-Me Showdown.
