Trenton’s Spencer, numerous Chillicothe Hornets, advance to Class 3 state meet

Trenton High School’s Dylan Spencer placed fourth on Saturday afternoon in the discus at the boys Class 3, Section 4 track meet at Odessa High School.  That qualifies Spencer for state competition in Jefferson City this coming weekend.  Chillicothe’s Damarcus Kelow was second in the discus.  Kelow was third in the shot put for the Hornets.

Other top four finishes from Chillicothe, advancing to state, came from Braxten Johnson in the 300 meter hurdles, Cy Evans second in the javelin, Charles Walker third in the pole vault, and Tristan Forck fourth in the high jump.

Maryville won the boys team title with 85 points, Osage was second with 69, Chillicothe third with 64 points, and Trenton 21st with five points.

In the girls Class 3, Section 4 meet at Odessa, top four finishes by Chillicothe included a third place effort in the 4 by 800 meter relay.  Kayanna Cranmer was fourth in both the 400 and 800 meters.

Eldon won the team title with 94 points, Cameron was second with 82, Maryville third with 63, Chillicothe 10th with 35 points, and the Trenton girls 22nd with nine points.
