Trenton High School’s Jacey Hudson has qualified for the Missouri high school girls state wrestling tournament by placing fourth at the district tournament on Saturday at Kansas City North.  She is the first Trenton wrestler to qualify for girls state.  Hudson picked up two wins and two losses in the 235 pound weight class at the district tournament hosted by Oak Park High School.

Cameron has three state qualifiers.  Justice Brewer was second at 149 pounds, Hollie Hedgpeth was third at 194, and Ashley Yamat was fourth at 105 pounds at districts.  Carrollton’s Aiva Mayer was second at 110.  Valorie Gabrielli of Polo was fourth at 149 pounds.

There is just one class in girls wrestling in Missouri, thus schools of all sizes compete together.

There was a close finish at the district tournament.  Staley High School was first with 119 points, Fort Osage second at 116, Park Hill third at 112, and Mid-Buchanan fourth at 110 1/2 points.  Cameron tied with Liberty for eighth place with 84 points, with Polo tying for 21st with 35, and Carrollton was 23rd with 33 points.

The girls state tournament will be held at Mizzou Arena in Columbia from Thursday, February 17th through Saturday, February 19th.
