North Central Missouri College men’s basketball coach Steve Richman added to his recruiting class on Friday morning without having to leave town, as Trenton High School senior Cree Mullenix signed a letter of intent to attend NCMC and play basketball for his hometown Pirates. Coach Richman told KTTN that it was a combination of two factors that impressed the coaching staff to Mullenix:

In his senior year at Trenton High School, Mullenix led the Bulldogs to a 13-11 record. The team lost in a tough-fought one-point game (46-45) to Richmond in the district quarterfinal round, narrowly missing out on a chance to play eventual district runner-up Chillicothe in the semifinal round. Mullenix played in all 24 games for the Bulldogs in 2015-2016, averaging 11 1/2 points per game, in addition to 5.3 rebounds and 2.1 assists per contest.
Mullenix hit 27 three-point field goals during the season, hitting on an average of 21 percent. His free throw percentage was a solid 73 percent, matching Brice Dillon for the highest on the squad.
