Trenton volleyball finishes third at Carrollton Tournament, starts week 0-2

The Trenton Lady Bulldogs took 3rd place in the four-team Carrollton Volleyball Tournament on Saturday, beating Brookfield in the third place match.  Earlier in the day, Trenton had split sets with Brookfield and Richmond, while being swept in the middle match of pool play against the host Carrollton Lady Trojans.

On Monday night, the Lady Bulldogs hosted Lexington, coming up short in a 25-11, 25-18 sweep for LHS.  Karli Provorse had five kills and Shawna Coplen four digs for Trenton, while Saedee Jackson added four digs and Melea Farmer three assists.

Trenton, on Tuesday night, traveled to Grace Gymnasium in St. Joseph to tangle with one of the toughest teams in northwest Missouri, the LeBlond Golden Eagles.  LeBlond downed the visiting Bulldogs 25-11, 25-13, as Karli Provorse led Trenton with three digs and three kills, Brittany Wilson and Melea Farmer both had three digs, with Teresa Burkholder adding two kills and two digs, while Provorse had a pair of aces for the Bulldog offense.
