Trenton varsity tennis sweeps rain-shortened duel with Carrollton

The Trenton Lady Bulldog tennis team won all six of their singles matches on Tuesday afternoon against the visiting Carrollton Lady Trojans, winning 6-0, as play as halted after a late-afternoon rainstorm came rolling through the THS tennis complex.

No varsity doubles matches were played, however, Trenton looked dominant in singles.  The only tight match, between Claire Utley and Cierra Famuliner, was won by Utley of THS, by a score of 8-6.  Lauren Dolan, Samantha Mihalovich, Madison Searcy, and Codi DeLong of the Lady Bulldogs swept their matches 8-love, while Emma Gilham snared an 8-1 win.

In JV doubles, Trenton’s Alainey Fair and Elle Neal rolled to a 6-love triumph.  Emily Bonta and Latorrie Johnson of THS won 6-2.  All other JV matches were called due to rain.

Trenton now hits the road for its next four tennis events, starting Thursday afternoon at Savannah.  Next week, Trenton is at Chillicothe on Monday and Bishop LeBlond, starting a run of five events in five days, including tournaments at Chillicothe and St. Joseph.
