The Trenton Bulldogs shot a team score of 334, good for a 7th place tie (with St. Joseph Central) at Friday’s Richmond Invitational at Shirkey Golf Course. Â Hank Lierz of the team champions from Bishop LeBlond earned individual medalist honors, with a round of 70. Â William Esrey of Pembroke Hill shot 72 for second place.
LeBlond had the only sub-300 score of the day, shooting 294. Â Warrensburg was second at 310, followed by Pembroke Hill, Columbia Rock Bridge, Kansas City Rockhurst, and Maryville.
Immediately behind Trenton’s 334 in the standings were Lawson (9th – 343) and Cameron (11th – 348).
Sam Morrison of Cameron was a top-10 finisher, shooting 77 for a 3-way tie for 10th place. Â Other area scores were Lawson’s Tanner Smith at 78 and Cody Glenn at 79; Trenton’s Nate Swann with 80; Trenton’s Lathan Croy at 83, Cameron’s Chase Foreman and Trenton’s Cree Mullenix both at 84; Trenton’s Corbyn Guile at 87, Cameron’s Tanner Slover at 92,. Cameron’s Kyler Hill and Spencer Teel both at 95, Trenton’s Tucker Franklin at 96; and Lawson’s Jacob Taylor at 98.
Twenty-two schools competed in Friday’s golf tournament at Richmond.
