Trenton tennis wins on Senior Night, rolling Lexington 8-1

The Trenton Lady Bulldogs continue to play dominant tennis, particularly in duals, celebrating Senior Night on Tuesday with an 8-1 home court win over Lexington.

Lexington’s only win of the night came in #1 doubles, as Kristen Smith and Clarisa Caldwell defeated Claire Utley and Lauren Dolan 8-6.  Other than that result, it was a runaway for the home team.  

In singles, Madison Searcy beat Ashley Menard 8-love, Emma Gilham claimed an 8-1 win over Courtney Chaney, Lauren Dolan downed Chloe Caldwell 8-2, Claire Utley (over Kristen Smith) and Samantha Mihalovich (over Clarisa Caldwell) won by identical 8-3 scores.  Alainey Fair was able to grind out an 8-6 win over Lexington’s Sydney Lautenschlager.

In doubles play, Trenton’s team of Mihalovich and Searcy won 8-1, while Fair and Gilham were victorious 8-3.

The Trenton JV took 3 of 4 doubles matches against LHS, as Elle Neal and Emily Bonta won 6-1, Latorrie Johnson and Leah Polk 6-4, and Halley Windsor and Grace Eaton combined for a 6-4 win.  In a highly competitive JV match, Lexington’s Terrell and Griffin beat Trenton’s Schlatter and Neal, 7-6 (with a 7-5 tiebreak score).
