Trenton tennis sweeps Lexington, improves spring record to 7-1

The Trenton Bulldogs dominated play in a Thursday tennis dual with the Lexington Minutemen, winning all nine matches played against the Missouri River Valley Conference (MRVC) opponent.

The closest of the nine matches came at #1 doubles, where Kade Ockenfels teamed with Creed Houghton for Trenton, defeating Lexington’s entry of Chad Wolken and Christopher Ryals 8-6.  The Trenton #3 doubles entry of Jeremy Elliott and Isaac Harris blitzed Ryder Brooks and Nicholas Flanigan 8-love, while the Bulldogs team of Gabe Swann and Wyatt Neal downed Seth Seitz and Nicklas Failing 8-2.

In singles play, Creed Houghton played in the most competitive match, downing Failing of Lexington at #4 8-3.  Gabe Swann won 8-2 (over Ryals) at #3 singles, while Wyatt Neal lost just one game in an 8-1 win at #5 singles over Brooks.  Nick Shields (#1), Jeremy Elliott (#6), and Kade Ockenfels (#2) all won their singles matches by identical scores of 8-love.
