Trenton tennis stays unbeaten with road sweep of LeBlond

The Trenton Lady Bulldog tennis team is in the win column for the fourth time this season, with Tuesday night’s 9-0 sweep of Bishop LeBlond the third triumph against a Midland Empire Conference (MEC) squad (Chillicothe, Savannah).

Trenton singles winners, by scores of 8-1, were Claire Utley (over Katelyn Joe), Samantha Mihalovich (over Molli Bell), and Madison Searcy (over Olivia Pollard).  Lauren Dolan shutout Brennah Davies 8-love, while Codi DeLong beat Liberty Wigton 8-3, and Emma Gilham downed Samantha Fuson, 8-5.

In doubles play, Utley and Dolan beat Joe and Bell 8-2, Mihalovich and Searcy beat Davies and Wigton 8-1, while DeLong and Gilham took care of Pollard and Fuson 8-5.

In JV competition, Trenton’s Alainey Fair beat LeBlond’s Bailey Bell 6-love.  Fair combined with Emily Bonta for a 6-1 win over Bell and Kempf.  Elle Neal of THS claimed a 6-2 win over Alexandrea Kempf of the Golden Eagles.
