The Trenton High School basketball teams will make an appearance in the Missouri Hall of Game Basketball Classic for the second consecutive year. On Saturday, January 5th, the Bulldogs and Lady Bulldogs will play in the evening session, with the THS boys battling the host Benton Cardinals at 5:30, followed by the Lady Bulldogs taking on the Mid-Buchanan Lady Dragons at 7 o’clock.
Eight games, starting at 10 o’clock in the morning, will be played that day at Benton High School’s Springer Gym on the south side of St. Joseph. The Lafayette girls, who play Trenton at NCMC’s Holiday Hoops in December, will take on the Hogan Prep Lady Rams in the first game of the day, followed by the East Buchanan boys, led by All-State junior forward Ethan Kilgore, dueling with the Pembroke Hill Raiders at 11:30.
At 1 o’clock, Maryville’s strong boys team out of the MEC will take on Kansas City Center, with the high-octane attack of St. Joseph Lafayette’s boys drawing a meeting with Park Hill South at 2:30.
The powerhouse girls program from Benton plays Lincoln Prep at 4 o’clock. Following the two Trenton contests, the MId-Buchanan boys will visit the event, taking on North Andrew at 8:30.
