In what would be considered a strategic move by Head Coach Joel Hultman with softball districts approaching in just over a week, senior ace McKayla Blackburn did not pitch on Monday night, as the Trenton Lady Bulldogs traveled to Marceline to play the Lady Tigers. Without Blackburn in the circle, the Lady Bulldogs struggled to keep the powerful Lady Tiger offense off the board, as MHS rolled to a 15-5 win, dropping Trenton’s record to 13-7 on the season.

In volleyball action heard Monday night on KTTN FM 92.3, the Chillicothe Lady Hornet varsity completed a season sweep of Trenton with a 25-11, 25-18 win at the THS gymnasium. Earlier in the evening, Chillicothe had swept Trenton in both the C match and JV match between the rival schools.
