State-ranked Marceline cruised to victories over Macon and Trenton in a high school wrestling triangular at Trenton High School on Thursday night. The first dual found Trenton defeating Macon 51-21. Marceline then beat Macon 58-18. Marceline defeated Trenton 49-24 in the final dual of the night.
In Trenton’s victory over Macon, Jadan Whitney, Quincy Griffin, Eric Lovett, Noah Lewis, and Mark Trump all won by pin. Lucas Clark captured an 8-4 decision. Mason Owen, Canyon VonBurg, and Payden McCullough all won by forfeit.
In the Trenton-Marceline dual, Marceline jumped out to a 41-0 lead before Noah Lewis won by pin to give Trenton its first six points of the match. Trenton’s other winners against Marceline were Mason Owen by pin and Lucas Clark by forfeit.

Marceline is ranked #4 in the state in Class 1 by MissouriWrestling.com. Individually for Mraceline, Keegan Wright is ranked fourth at 106 pounds, Cooper Fisher fourth at 113, Colton Fisher sixth at 120 pounds, Clayton Stallo second at 138, Cullen Bruner sixth at 145, Rylan Chrisman third at 160 pounds, and Seth Cupp honorable mention at 182 pounds. All of those wrestlers competed against Trenton on Thursday night, except Chrisman who was out of the lineup because of illness.
MissouriWrestling.com ranks Trenton’s Jadan Whitney fifth in the state in Class 1 at 195 pounds and Mason Owen sixth at 22.
On another note, this is just the second season that Macon has had a high school wrestling team.
Trenton’s grapplers will be in the Brookfield Tournament on Saturday, and meet Chillicothe in a road dual on Tuesday night of next week.
