Trenton High School sophomore Ainsley Tolson, after winning three games in five days, with an ERA of 0.67 and 31 strikeouts, has been named the National High School “Player of the Week” by Max Preps and NFCA (National Fastpitch Coaches Association).

Tolson fired a seven-inning perfect game against Lexington in Saturday morning’s District 15 title game, leading Trenton to a 3-0 victory, and a return trip to Missouri’s Class 2 state playoffs.  Two days earlier, in a semifinal test against rival Penney, Tolson one-hit the Lady Hornets in a 7-0 victory for Trenton.  In the Lady Bulldogs regular season finale against Chillicothe on Monday, October 3rd, Ainsley allowed only two runs in a complete game effort, leading THS to a 5-2 victory.

In addition to the outstanding pitching effort, Tolson was hot with the bat, hitting a two-run homer and driving in four runs in the victory at Chillicothe, before going 2-for-2 and scoring a run against Hamilton.
