Trenton shuts out Cameron in Senior Night tennis rout

The Trenton Bulldogs took a tennis duel with the visiting Cameron Dragons on Tuesday afternoon, winning 9 matches to zero in varsity play, and 3-0 in three JV doubles matches played at the THS courts.

With “Senior Night” being observed by the Bulldogs, three singles matches ended in 8-love finals, as Nick Shields downed David Curtis, Wyatt Neal defeated Tyler Anderson, and Creed Houghton shut out Noah Caldwell.

Gabe Swann (over David Beasley) and Jacob Davis (over Robert Bremer) of Trenton won by identical 8-1 finals, while Kade Ockenfels of the Bulldogs beat Finn Funk of the Dragons, 8-2.

In doubles play, the team of Neal and Swann took an 8-1 win over Caldwell and Beasley, Ockenfels and Houghton combined for an 8-2 triumph (over Bremer and Anderson), while Shields and Davis won 8-4 over Curtis and Funk.

The team win improves the Bulldogs spring record to 7-2, while dropping Cameron to 1-10.

In JV play, Weston Otto and Jeremy Elliott won 6-1, Colten Hamilton and Elijah Oyler 6-2, and Reece Miller and Riley Raymo 6-4, all in favor of the Bulldog side.
