The Trenton Bulldogs scored 16 unanswered runs, including 13 in the top of the 5th inning, rallying from an early 4-0 hole to run-rule the East Harrison Bobcats on Monday afternoon, 16-4, in a game played in Cainsville.
Brayden Wiggins did superlative work from the Trenton bullpen, firing 3 2/3 scoreless innings for the Bulldogs, scattering one hits and two walks while striking out five. Wiggins came in in relief of Tucker Otto, who gave up four runs on four hits in the first 1 1/3 innings of the contest.
Otto launched a grand slam for Trenton, with Collin Taylor adding a home run. Otto scored three times and added five RBI’s for Trenton, as the Bulldogs snared the program’s first victory of the 2021 season. Gibler, Cagle, Schreckengaust, Taylor, and Clause all scored two runs for the Bulldogs.
Trenton was the beneficiary of 17 walks given by four Bobcats pitchers, as THS scored 16 runs on the strength of only seven base hits.
