The Trenton Lady Bulldogs went 2-2 on Saturday, with a pair of pool play victories followed by back-to-back losses to Carrollton, resulting in a runner-up finish to the Lady Trojans in the Carrollton Volleyball Tournament.
THS opened play with a 25-19, 25-10 against Brookfield and a 25-20, 25-20 sweep of Richmond. In a pool play match against Carrollton, the Lady Bulldogs fell 25-19, 25-10. Carrollton won the final against Trenton 25-13, 25-19.
Ava Simpson had 18 assists for THS in a four-match day, with Saige Gott adding 14 kills and 7 aces and Nautica Dowling 7 aces.
The Trenton JV had similar results to the varsity, with a victory over Brookfield in pool play 25-11, 25-18 before a split with Richmond 23-25, 25-18. In their final pool play duel, the THS JV lost to Carrollton 25-12, 25-10, before another loss to Carrollton in the final 25-14, 25-19.
Trenton’s C team, junior varsity, and varsity teams will play at Chillicothe on Monday night, with action beginning at 5 o’clock from the CHS gymnasium.
