The Trenton Middle School girls finished their track season with a 111 point day on Wednesday, taking first-place honors at the Kirksville Invitational. Hannibal was runner-up, followed by Kirksville, Marceline, and Putnam County. Other teams at the meet were Moberly, Schuyler County, Knox County, and Canton.
For TMS, Lexi Whitaker won the high jump at 4 feet, 6 inches. Allena Allen claimed the 800 meter title, with a time of 2 minutes, 49.52 seconds. TMS was dominant in the relays, as Allena Allen, Gwyneth Foster, Evie Dowell, and McKayla Blackburn claimed the 4 by 800 race in 11 minutes, 37.21 seconds. Kennedy Norton, Lexi Gott, Maci Moore, and Lexi Whitaker claimed the 4 by 100 relay, with a winning time of 57.4 seconds, and Shawna Coplen, McKayla Blackburn, Kennedy Norton, and Lexi Whitaker ran a time of 4 minutes, 35.78 seconds to win the 4 by 400 relay.
The 4 by 200 relay finished second, and Coplen was second in the 400 meter dash. Maci Moore was third in the shot put competition.
The Trenton Middle School boys finished in fourth place in the 9 school Kirksville Invite. Carson Burchett won the shot put with a winning throw of 43 feet, 3 inches, while Jose Valazquez finished third in the 200 meter dash.
