Trenton Middle School track teams win St. Joseph Christian Relays

The Trenton Middle School girls won the St. Joseph Christian Junior High Invitational with a score of 108.  St. Joseph Christian finished second with a score of 89, and Mid-Buchanan finished third with a score of 51.  there were 13 teams in the field.

For Trenton, Maci Moore was first in the shot put at 36 feet, 6 inches.  Ann Airey was second in the 200 meter dash.  Moore was second in the triple jump and Kendall Crowley was third in the discus.

Trenton won three girls relay races.  The team of Shawna Coplen, McKayla Blackburn, Kennedy Norton, and Lexi Whitaker won both the 4 by 200 and 4 by 400 races.  Norton and Whitaker teamed with Lexi Gott and Maci Moore to win the 4 by 100 relay.

The Trenton Middle School boys amassed 146 points to win a team title.  Mid-Buchanan was second at 71 and Jefferson third with 58 points.

For the Bulldog boys, Sam Schilling was first in the 100 meter hurdles (18.12 seconds), with Jose Valazquez grabbing three wins (triple jump at 34 feet, 6 inches, 100 meter dash at 12.76 seconds, and 200 meter dash at 25.87 seconds).  Carson Burchett was first in the shot put at 42 feet, 1.5 inches.  Trenton’s boys won two relays, as Mark Trump, David Felix, Quincy Griffin, and Jose Valazquez going 52.2 seconds in the 4 by 100 relay, and Sam Schilling, Noah Lewis, Camdyn Leeper, and Quentin Hughs running a 4:14.45 in the 4 by 400 relay.

Trenton was second in the 4 by 200 relay, with other runner-up efforts from Noah Burkeybile in the pole vault, Dalton Burchett in the shot put, and Quentin Hughs in the 400 meter run.  Mark Trump was third in the high jump.

The Trenton Middle School track teams finish their season on Wednesday, May 4th at Kirksville.
