The Trenton Bulldog junior varsity basketball teams claimed a pair of Thursday night victories at Gallatin High School, beating South Harrison in the Gallatin JV Tournament semifinals.
The Lady Bulldogs used a 12-0 advantage in the first quarter to run away from South Harrison in a 50-15 blowout victory. Â Kennedy Norton led Trenton with 17 points, with Maci Henson adding 15, McKayla Blackburn 10, and Lexi Whitaker eight. Â Trenton advances to the tournaments final, Saturday afternoon at 12:30.
The Trenton JV boys had a closer game, but a win none-the-less against South Harrison, 44-33. Â THS led 22-20 at the half, but the defense helped spur a 20-6 run to start the second half that tipped the game in Trenton’s favor. Â Carson Burchett had 18 points to pace Trenton, with Isaac Harris adding 11, and Kade Ockenfels 10 points.
The win pushes the JV boys to 8-1 on the season. Â The Trenton boys will play at 2 o’clock on Saturday afternoon in the championship game of the Gallatin JV Tournament.
