The Trenton Lady Bulldog JV jumped out to a 13-0 lead over Maysville after one quarter, and won the Gallatin Tournament’s championship game, 38-14 on Saturday afternoon. Â McKayla Blackburn had 10 points and Lexi Whitaker eight for Trenton. Â Kennedy Norton and Maci Henson each had seven points for the winners.
The Gallatin JV boys won their own tournament with a 30-22 victory, giving Trenton only its second loss of the season. Â A slow start cost Trenton, as the visitors fell behind 11-2 early in the first quarter, but used strong defense to pull within 12-11 by halftime.
A fourth-quarter Gallatin run sent GHS to the tourney title. Â
The Trenton JV teams will travel to Milan on Monday night to play the Wildcats in doubleheader action, starting at 6 o’clock.
