Bishop LeBlond High School of St. Joseph won both the team and individual titles on Friday afternoon, with Hank Lierz shooting a 3-under par round of 68 to win the medalist honors by five shots over runner-up Payne Gallagher of Kearney, while the Golden Eagles team score of 315 was five better than the 320 of Liberty. Kansas City Rockhurst, at 327, finished third, with 20 teams posting a total on the board at the Shirkey Golf Course.
Only three Trenton Bulldogs competed in the Richmond Invitational, leaving THS one short of the four needed to post a team score. On a day that Coach Travis Mullenix admitted his team was not at “their best”, Gavin Roeder shot 114, good for a three-way tie for 84th place. Brycin Loyd shot 116 and Juan Garcia 139 for Trenton.
The Bulldog linksters look for a rebound performance on Monday at the Kirksville Tournament, starting at 9 AM.
