The media members of northwest Missouri have announced the all-district selections for the 2017-2018 high school basketball season, with the two teams that played for the Class 3, District 16 championship in February, the Trenton Lady Bulldogs and Penney Lady Hornets, grabbing five of the eight girls all-district spots, and the Coach of the Year honor.
In Class 3, all-district girls selections include Trenton’s junior back-court of Ainsley Tolson and Mykah Hurley, along with freshman forward Maci Moore. The District 16 champion Lady Hornets from Hamilton had sophomore point guard Nora Ford and senior small forward McKauley Prothero named all-district, while the Lady Hornets coach, Jordan Richman, earned Coach of the Year all-district honors. The team was filled out with Maryville’s outstanding freshman guard, Serena Sundell, East Buchanan senior forward Madison McCreary, and Lawson junior Taylor Dolt.
The Class 3 boys all-district team includes the leading scorer off of this year’s Trenton Bulldog team, senior small forward Lathan Croy. The District champion Maryville Spoofhounds boast the Coach of the Year in Matt Stoecklein, along with two players named to the team, in junior Eli Dowis and sophomore Tate Oglesby. Â
Other boys named All-District are South Harrison senior Treyton Campbell, Hamilton senior LaTroy Harper, East Buchanan sophomore Ethan Kilgore, Lawson senior Zach Miller, Lathrop senior Brock Lewis, LeBlond senior Jack Harvey, and Carrollton senior Brett Pierson.
