The Trenton Bulldogs rode hot-shooting from Preston Harris, and a strong finish for Chase Otto, in snaring a 46-43 victory over the Polo Panthers on Tuesday night, in Grand River Conference boys action broadcast on Hot Country Z 101.7.
Harris hit six three-point shots for the Bulldogs (4-8, 1-4), including three in the first quarter. Otto had 12 points, with seven of those in the final quarter. Gavin Roeder added seven, Brycin Loyd five, and Dylan Spencer four points.
For Polo (2-12, 0-4), Garrett Daughters had 15 points and Jace Bolling 12.
In the girls game, Polo improved to 13-1 overall and 3-1 in the GRC, with a 41-26 win over cold-shooting Trenton. Mary Copeland hit a balanced Lady Panther attack with 11 points, with Lily Gentry and Hanna Vaught both scoring eight.
For Trenton (4-9, 1-5), Morgan King hit a trio of three-point shots for nine points. Jena Harris had six points, all in the fourth quarter.
Polo will take on Braymer on Thursday night, with a visit from Princeton on Friday, while Trenton travels to Milan for doubleheader action on Friday night on KTTN FM 92.3.
Two quarters each of junior varsity basketball was played on Tuesday night at Polo High School, with the Polo boys winning 18-16, and the Polo girls 16-12.
