The Missouri Sportswriters and Sportscasters Association has announced Class 1 through 5 all-northwest district football honorees for the just completed season. As expected, a Princeton Tiger that surged to a state quarterfinal appearance, and Grand River Conference and District 8 titles, is strongly represented in Class 1, along with the East Buchanan Bulldogs, the team that beat Princeton in the quarterfinal round before falling to eventual state champion Monroe City. Of note, Princeton’s second year head coach Thomas Hotmer, author of a turn-around that saw the Tigers move from a sub .500 team to a conference champion in less than a year, is the all-district Class 1 coach of the year.
The Trenton Bulldogs, despite a season that saw THS hover near the .500 mark, and in the middle of the GRC standings, had seven players named all-district, in seniors Lathan Croy, Colton Colston, Cole Schilling, Mason Owen, and Hunter Dugan, and juniors Jadan Whitney and Carson Radcliff.
