The Trenton Bulldogs, behind a balanced scoring effort, rolled to a 65-38 win at Marceline on Tuesday night, in the back-end of a varsity doubleheader broadcast on Hot Country Z 101.7.
With Dylan Harris hitting a trio of three-point shots and Max McNabb adding four shots from inside the arc in the first quarter, THS jumped on the Tigers early to a 22-11 advantage, in improving to 3-2. McNabb finished with 16 points for Trenton, while Carson Burchett had 13, Dylan Harris 12, and Carson Radcliff 11. Junior small forward Jaren Whitney sprained his ankle in the third quarter for the Bulldogs, leaving his availability for Friday night’s game in Chillicothe very much in doubt.
Marceline, in falling to 0-3, had 13 points from Desmond Fessler.
The Trenton Lady Bulldogs hammered Marceline in the opener, scoring the first 17 points of the game and never trailing in a dominating 77-40 win. Senior guard Ainsley Tolson moved into second place on Trenton’s all-time scoring list with a 33 point effort, while Maci Moore added 22, 16 of those in the second half. Mykah Hurley had nine points for 5-0 Trenton.
Marceline, the second-place team in the Glasgow Tournament to open the season, falls to 2-2. The Lady Tigers had 13 points from Baylee Jobson and 10 points from Maycee Edgar.
