Trenton Middle School’s 8th grade girls track team racked up 114 1/2 points, finishing second to Smithville (156 1/2) in Tuesday’s Cameron Middle School Invitational. The Lady Bulldogs finish put TMS ahead of schools the likes of Chillicothe, Maryville, St. Joseph (Spring Garden), and host Cameron. The Trenton 7th grade girls, with 27 points, finished in sixth place.
Finishing in first place for the Trenton girls was Kristi Ewing in the 200 meter run (28.86 seconds), Maci Moore in the shot put (35 feet, 4 inches), the 4 by 100 relay team of Kristi Ewing, Gwyneth Foster, Maci Moore, and Lexi Gott (54.81 seconds), and the 4 by 200 relay team of Lexi Gotta, Emilee Lovell, Emma Curtis, and Gwyneth Foster (2 minutes, 1.74 seconds).
In other girls results, Janessa Van Hoozer was 3rd place in the 1 mile run and 800 meter dash, Kristi Ewing was runner-up in the 100 meter run, Emma Curtis 2nd in the long jump, Maci Moore 2nd in the triple jump, and Gracyn Rongey 3rd place in the 1 mile run and triple jump.
The 4 by 400 relay team (Gott, Curtis, McCullough, Foster) was in second place.
The Trenton 7th grade boys finished in 5th place and the 8th graders 6th place on Tuesday afternoon.
Finishing in first place for TMS were Camden Leeper in the 8th grade 400 meter dash (1 minute, .81 seconds) and 100 meter hurdles (16.93 seconds), Chase Otto in the 8th grade 800 meter run (2 minutes, 24.14 seconds), and Kaden Owen in the 7th grade discus (82 feet, 1 inch).
In second place were Quincy Griffin in the 8th grade triple jump, while the team of Bouzek, Leeper, Brown, and Roeder was third in the 4 by 400 8th grade relay, and Riley Rorebeck 3rd in the 7th grade boys shot put.
Trenton will host the Middle School Quad at C.F. Russell Stadium at 4 o’clock on Thursday, April 6th.
