The Trenton High School boys wrestling team had four wins and one loss in a dual-style tournament at Lexington High School on Saturday.  THS had just eight wrestlers, continuing to battle illnesses surging through area schools in early December.

The Bulldogs defeated University Academy 42-12, Lexington 41-24, Albany 36-12, and lost to Brookfield 72-12, all in its pool battles.  After placing runner-up, THS matched up with GRC rival South Harrison in the third place dual, winning 46-24.  Each of the duals had several forfeits.

There were seven actual matches with Lexington, Brookfield, and South Harrison; five with University Academy, and four with Albany.

Trenton’s Sam Gibson had an actual match in each of the five duals.  Gibson won all of them by pin, with four victories in the 190 pound weight class and one win at 215 pounds.

Hunter McAtee also was 5-0 on the day at 144 and 150 pounds.  Cooper Houser, Mason Rongey, Brayden Hughs, and Gavin Chambers all went 4-1.
