The Trenton Lady Bulldogs were run-ruled in Monday’s softball battle at Lawson High School, falling to the Class 2 state-ranked Lady Cardinals by a score of 11-1. The game was broadcast on Hot Country Z 101.7.
Lawson scored once in the bottom of the first inning, as THS was unable to get out of the inning unscathed, committing two errors to allow Megan McFall to score after the first two batters had been retired.
Things got worse for Trenton in the second inning, as Lawson added three more runs on three hits. Six more runs followed in the third inning, an uprising that included a two-run homer by McFall.
Trenton’s only run scored in the top of the 4th inning, as a Jena Harris single was followed by a run-scoring double by Kenzie Lynch. A McFall double in the sixth inning scored Madi Cross to end the contest, dropping Trenton to 6-5 and pushing Lawson to 10-4.
