Avila University sophomore Ainsley Tolson (Trenton, MO) has been named the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Week, after helping lead the Eagles to a victory over Southwestern, and leading her team in hits and slugging.
Trading in her basketball shoes for softball cleats for the spring season, Tolson saw Avila outscore opponents to the tune of 31-3 over the week, while picking up a five-inning shutout of Southwestern in her third start of the season.
Avila is now 16-12 on the season, and 6-2 in the KCAC.
