Eleven girls are on the basketball cheer squad. They are Stacy Coplen, Cassidy Trump, Brandi Eaton, Thelma Guerrero, Kayley Griffin, Sarah Jordan, Karli Crawford, Mason Hooyman, Jaylen Neff, Emma Norris, and Lana Raymo.

The 2016-2017 school year will be the first as a member of the Grand River Conference for Trenton High School. For football, the Bulldogs will begin the season with non-conference games against Lathrop and Lexington, and then get into conference play, with matchups against Putnam County, Milan, Gallatin, Polo, Maysville, South Harrison, and Princeton.

Trenton, for girls and boys basketball, will have a similar looking schedule as past years. However, the December and January portion of the schedule will include GRC matchups with the same seven schools. On February 3rd, a matchup with a member of the GRC’s western division will take place. These matches will be determined by order of finish in eastern and western division play. For the 2016-2017 season, the eastern division teams will have home-court advantage in these games. The matchup between the #1 west team visiting the #1 east team will decide the first-ever Grand River Conference basketball champion.

The GRC’s western division will be made up of Braymer, Pattonsburg, Albany, Worth County, King City, Stanberry, St. Joseph Christian, and North Andrew. For football, this division will be made up of eight-man football schools, thus no “cross-over” games will be held. However, the “cross-over” format will be in place for girl’s fast-pitch softball this fall season.
