The Missouri Tigers have won another recruiting battle for a star athlete in the St. Louis area, landing the oral commitment of Kirkwood High School defensive end Arvell Ferguson on Thursday. The commitment of Ferguson continues an encouraging trend for Coach Barry Odom in the Gateway City, with Ferguson joining his high school teammate Maurice Massey, along with Jack Buford and Martez Manuel as “in-state” recruits in the 2019 class. Overall, the class now sits at 11 in total.
Ferguson is a 6-foot-4 pass-rusher who is considered a three-star recruit by Rivals.com and 247sports. He chose the Tigers over Wyoming, Arkansas State, Miami (Ohio), Ball State and Western Michigan. The cupboard in-state could remain fruitful for MU, with the Tigers still in the mix for players the likes of wide receiver Marcus Washington, offensive lineman Ira Henry, defensive back Jalani Williams, and linebacker Shammond Cooper.
