Point guard Soloman Thomas led the North Central Missouri College Pirates with 20 points, the Pirates took a road win over Labette Community College, 74-71 on Friday night in Parsons, Kansas. Cameron Lockett added 16 points and eight rebounds with Quinan Rieves scoring 10 points for the Pirates. Toraze Dobbs had 20 points for Labette.
On Saturday afternoon, the Pirates came up short in their bid for a weekend sweep in Parsons, falling to the Hesston College Larks, 92-86.
On Friday night, the NCMC Lady Pirates picked up an 81-71 win over the Missouri Valley junior varsity team. Crystal Eureste came off the bench to score a team-high 20 points, including 3 of 5 three-point shooting, for the Lady Pirates, while Karissa Baber had 14, Hailey Burrows 12, and Haley Berghager 10 points.
The NCMC teams return home for Wednesday night doubleheader action on Hot Country Z 101.7, with the Lady Pirates hosting the Graceland JV at 5:30, followed by the Pirates taking on the Johnson County CC Cavaliers at 7:30. Pregame hits the air at 5:20.
