Sporting Kansas City’s early season record tumbled to 2-6 with a Sunday afternoon defeat to Los Angeles FC, coming in a 3-1 final margin.
Two goals late in the contest were pivotal for LAFC, with Ismael Tajouri’s tally in the 70th minute providing the hosts with a 2-1 lead. Diego Palacios assisted on the goal. Jose Cifuentes put the game away with a goal minutes later.
Christian Arango scored in the opening half for LAFC, who shot Sporting KC 15-9. LAFC will travel to Cincinnati on Sunday, with Sporting returning to Children’s Mercy Park in KCK to host the Columbus Crew on Saturday.
