Daniel Salloi added two goals to his total of 15 for the MLS season, leading Sporting Kansas City to a 3-1 win on Wednesday night in Frisco, Texas against slumping FC Dallas.
Salloi scored in the 13th minute, with Johnny Russell finding the back of the net in the 55th for SKC (14-6-7). In the 61th minute, Salloi doubled his goal total, moving swiftly through the Dallas defense and blasting the ball by goalkeeper Jimmy Maurer.
Russell’s goal was his 8th of the season, including tallies in four straight contests. That goal came via penalty kick, after a take-down in the box by Dallas defender Bryan Acosta.
Dallas’ only goal came in the 68th minute on a breakaway by Ricardo Pepi. FC Dallas, losers of three straight games, continue to struggle, with an overall mark of 6-13-9.
