Real Salt Lake dominated play on Sunday, shutting out Sporting Kansas City 3-0 in Major League Soccer action in Sandy, Utah.
Sergio Cordova, Pablo Ruiz, and Jefferson Savarino all scored for RSL (9-6-6), with Andrew Brody adding an assist and Zac MacMath stopping the only shot he faced. Real Salt Lake outshot Sporting Kansas City 18-5, dropping SKC’s record to 5-12-5.Â
John Pulskamp got the start in goal and absorbed the loss for Sporting. On Saturday (July 23rd), both teams will be back in MLS play, with RSL hosting Dallas, and Sporting Kansas City hosting Los Angeles FC.Â
On Saturday, Sporting Kansas City lost defender Kortne Ford for the next 10 Major League Soccer games after he tested positive for a peformance-enhancing substance. Ford will be fined 20% of his annual salary. Ford will next be eligible to play against D.C. United on September 13th.
