Russell’s first half goal for Sporting came in the 45th minute of play, with Yueill’s equalizer coming just one minute into the second half. San Jose outshot Sporting 18-5, with a 5-2 edge in shots on goal. The point earned by Kansas City was just the second away from Children’s Mercy Park this season.
