Erik Thommy and Alan Pulido each tallied first-half goals for Sporting Kansas City, as SKC found the win column for the first time this season with a 2-1 triumph at Lumen Field in Seattle against first-place Seattle Sounders FC.

Thommy scored four minutes into the contest, with Pulido doubling the advantage 26 minutes later, with the end result giving the Sounders their first loss on home soil this season.  Lodeiro had the only tally of the game for Seattle, coming midway through the second half.

Sporting, despite the overall struggles in the 2023 season, has had result head-to-head success against Seattle, with six wins in the last nine meetings with the Sounders.
