Trenton’s Dylan Spencer placed fifth in the discus throw at the Boys Class 3 state track and field meet, which concluded Saturday in Jefferson City.
Chillicothe and Cameron also had entries in the Class 3 meets, with Isaiah Sprong of Chillicothe third place in the javelin competition, with Cameron’s Bailey Robinson taking the runner-up spot in the girls 800 meter race. The Cameron girls were third in the 4 by 400 relay race.
Bowling Green won the Boys Class 3 team title with 74 1/2 points. East Newton was second with 37. The Chillicothe boys, with 9 1/2 points, were 32rd, with Spencer’s four points for Trenton leaving the Bulldogs in 46th place.
St. Charles Lutheran captured the Girls Class 3 title with 51 points. Eldon was second with 37. Cameron tied for 21st place with 14 points, with Chillicothe in 47th place with two points.
Kearney edged Pleasant Hill 52-50 to claim the Girls Class 4 state championship, with Festus capturing the Boys Class 4 title.
The Class 5 champions were Columbia Rock Bridge in the boys division and Cardinal Ritter in the girls meet.
