The South Harrison Lady Bulldog volleyball program rallied from a 2-1 deficit to beat the Trenton Lady Bulldogs on Thursday night by a final of 25-23, 23-25, 23-25, 25-17, 15-12.
It was a “stat stuffing” night for both programs in the marathon match, as Trenton had Mackenzie Whipple with 24 kills, Jacole Simpson 16 assists and five aces, Olivia Tabbert with 17 assists, and Alexis Bonnett with 18 digs.
While disappointed with the outcome against a developing rival for the THS program, head coach Brad Ewald told KTTN Sports, “We played a lot better than we did at Bethany a couple of weeks ago. As with any loss, especially one that goes five sets, there a multitude of mistakes we can point to and wish we had them back, but there were also a lot of good takeaways from the night.”
The Trenton JV beat South Harrison in an entertaining match, taking the 25-21, 23-25, 25-20 victory. The C match went to Trenton in straight sets by a score of 25-21, 27-25.
