Two members of the 19 win North Central Missouri College women have been named to the NJCAA Division, All-Region 16 teams, including redshirt sophomore Kortlyn Rounkles named first-team. Rounkles, a transfer from Johnson County Community College by way of Southwest Livingston High School, averaged 17.8 points per game in her first season as a Lady Pirate. Freshman shooting guard Lily Osborn (Stanberry, MO) was named All-Region XVI second-team, after averaging 12.3 points per game for NCMC.
The decorated Pirate men’s team, fresh off of securing a second consecutive trip to the JUCO Division Two national tournament in Danville, Illinois, had four players named All-Region, including Region XVI Player of the Year, sophomore Marty Jackson. The Kansas City native averaged 15.6 points per game for an NCMC team that smashed school records with only three losses in the 2019-2020 season. Freshman Atavian Butler joined Jackson as a first-team selection, averaging his own 15.6 points per game for North Central.
Named All-Region second team selections were sophomore forward Quinan Rieves and sophomore shooting guard T.J. Babikir. Both Kansas City natives, Rieves averaged 11.9 points per game in his second year as a Pirates, while Babikir, a product of Staley High School in KC, averaged 10.4 points per game in his only season wearing North Central red.
The Region 16 Coach of the Year, Jeremy Esry, has 81 wins and 38 losses at North Central, his alma mater, giving him a winning percentage of .681.
