Six members of the University of Kentucky football program have pleaded guilty to charges of first-degree burglary. The pleas occurred on Friday, with a preliminary hearing in front of a judge planned for Wednesday. The incident in question was alleged to have occurred during a private party on March 6th. Judge Joseph T. Bouvier of Fayette County, Kentucky has ordered the players to stay way from the victim, and the site of the alleged burglary.
Reuben Adams, Robert McClain, Andru Phillips, Earnest Sanders IV, Devito Tisdale, and Joel Williams all face burglary charges, with Tisdale facing a charge of first-degree wanton endangerment, with the additional charge coming from a claim that he pointed a gun at one of the victims.
Lexington Police claim that three individuals entered the private party on March 6th, all uninvited, and were asked to leave. They did leave, apparently upset, and returned a short time later with the additional individuals.
UK coach Mark Stoops, in a statement on Thursday, said “We are evaluating the current situation as we receive more information”. The UK Athletic Department said, “The institution and athletics department take these matters very seriously. We are closely evaluating this issue before determining next steps.”
